WFIN Findlay adds FM presence
Blanchard River Broadcasting's Full Service/WFIN (1330am, Findlay) recently received FCC approval to add a 250 watt FM translator: W238CX. Youngstown AM stations deleted
In 2013, Whiplash radio tried to sell their WYCL (1540am, Niles) and WHTX (1570am, Warren). That sale didn't go through, so Whiplash surrenders the licenses for both radio stations. WYCL went on the air in 1963 as WNIO, (NIles, Ohio). The Niles Broadcasting Company owned WNIO (father Frank and son Robert Bevilacqua, and Stephen Conti.) WHTX went on the air in 1955 as WHOT (then, a daytimer), and it was one of the first Top 40 (what we'd now call CHR) formatted radio stations.
