Columbus FM translator files STA to go temporarily silent, claiming possible interference

September 4, 2017 By Blaine

TSJ Radio, LLC owns Gospel/WVKO (1580am, Columbus).  WVKO has an FM translator W225CS (92.9fm, Columbus) owned by Sandblast, L.P.  Sandblast filed this STA with the FCC.

There are two issues that have prompted the filing of this STA .An adjacent operator is believed to be encroaching on the protected contour of W225CS .A period of silence is requested to facilitate preparation of measurements to support a legal challenge to the unauthorized operation .Secondly, A totally baseless claim has been made that W225CS did not receive written permission to rebroadcast the primary station . An action in state court for a declatratory judgment interpreting the parties agreement must be filed and W225CS does not desire to risk operating outside of fcc parameters .thus temporariy silent autnority not to exceed 180 days is requested
